Myotein Review

Myotein is a protein powder developed by XPI Supplements that has been claimed to be one of the top-rated protein powders on available.

If you are like me, I’m just at the point where I expect a lot from a protein powder and skeptical with the claims they all make. It seems like companies have all the research and information they need to create a quality protein powder, but so many companies still skimp on ingredients and it just ends up frustrating users. Due to the cost of raw ingredients, it is no wonder why companies can be so likely to deceive.

In this review, I hope I can help you decide if Myotein is a good choice when it comes to selecting a protein powder that works, if Myotein tastes the way you want your protein powder to taste and if you’re really getting a good value overall by purchasing Myotein.

First Impression of Myotein

Before I ever tried Myotein, I had a lot of high expectations and that’s because of the way the industry has evolved to match new studies and the reviews I’ve seen we’re very promising.

While my expectations were still tempered (because even with all the great comments, nothing works the same for everyone), I still had high hopes for one of XPI’s latest products. So let’s take a look and find out the truth about Myotein.

There are now two flavors available, vanilla and chocolate. I was able to get my hands on the vanilla flavor (just recently released) and the chocolate flavor. Since I prefer vanilla over chocolate, I gave it a try first after a recent workout. I mixed it in a little Magic Bullet blender for about 30 seconds. Myotein mixed up smooth and actually tasted pretty good. Next I tried the chocolate flavor and that was even better.

I know the taste isn’t the main reason you want to take protein, but it’s important to have a protein powder that tastes good to me because I have to use it at least twice a day. And Myotein definitely passed the taste test. The chocolate was one of the best flavored proteins I ever had.

But really a protein powder doesn’t matter if the formula isn’t solid, so let’s look at what you’ll actually get in Myotein.

Digging Deeper into the Myotein Formula

You’ll notice one of the very first selling points when it comes to Myotein is the Time-Released Formula that’s supposed to be in here. Well that’s something I’ve seen makers say before too. But in many cases the ingredients just don’t add up to actually being time released.

It’s pretty easy to determine if a protein powder actually has a time relased formula because different proteins can be absorbed at different intervals. So with the variety of proteins in Myotein, you know you’re going to get the benefits of the different proteins throughout the day.

Myotein Supplement Facts

Myotein does use a variety of proteins — 6 in fact — but let’s look at each one and see if you’re really going to get the benefits of a time-released protein formula. Here’s a list of the different proteins you’ll get in Myotein:

Whey Protein Hydrolysate is pre-digested to help your body absorb it faster. Because it absorbs so quickly, it is a great protein for pre-workout priming and post-workout recovery.

Whey Protein Concentrate is considered one of the most efficient forms of protein available. Whey protein concentrate is a combination of amino acids and branched chain amino acids (BCAAs). These amino acids are the building blocks of muscle-building protein. Whey protein concentrate is also a fast and easily absorbed protein.

Whey Protein Isolate is the purest form of protein (90% protein per gram) and another form of whey protein that’s absorbed rapidly by the body. It helps burn fat, normalize blood sugar, and build muscle. Your body absorbs this protein more readily than other types.

Micellar Casein digests slowly to give you the benefits of protein long after you’ve used this form of protein, giving you a constant release of energy and nutrients that prevent catabolism and promote repair. The effects of this protein last longer than others which makes it great to speed the recovery process.

L-Glutamine is depleted during exercise and needs to be replenished; otherwise muscles start to break down. It is one of the best proteins for maintaining muscle growth and reducing recovery time.

Colostrum is full of growth factors, nutrients, and antibodies. It has a higher concentration of protein than most whey proteins.

What Else is in Myotein?

Some people like to take strictly whey protein powder without any other ingredients, on the other hand, some individuals are happy to get as many other ingredients in their protein as they can. I like to think of the additional ingredients as a better way to build my strength and increase my muscle mass. Myotein does include a few other ingredients, which are added to increase the benefits and effectiveness of the protein.

Myotein also includes the following ingredients:

Aminogen – Aminogen is actually a very nice ingredient if you’re looking to build muscle because it’s clinically tested and patented to raise amino acids levels within the body. This process helps break down protein for more efficient absorption. By increasing the rate of absorption, you’ll see fewer side effects you normally see from protein powders that are straight protein. It also helps you see results faster because your body is actually using more of the protein.

20 Hydroxyecdysdone – This naturally occurring hormone has only recently been added to supplements but has shown considerable promise in promoting both muscle growth and fat loss with a lower risk of side effects than other anabolic supplements (i.e. steroids). The great news about this ingredients is the fact that the results have shown to increase with a high-protein diet. So obviously adding it into a protein powder makes sense.

Coleus Forskohlii – If you want to burn your unwanted fat, to help you show off the muscle your adding, Coleus Forskohlii is a great addition to a protein powder. By increasing thermogenic activity, Coleus Forskohlii improves energy levels and your metabolism. It’s really another nice addition to an already pretty solid formula.

Will It Really Work?

There’s no question, Myotein has some of the best proteins included in it to really help you see the benefits of protein throughout the day. And at 26 grams of protein per serving (2 scoops), you should get the powerful dose your muscles need to grow, strengthen and recover faster.

According to users, Myotein works fast in two ways. First, it kicks in quickly before or after a workout to give your muscles energy and nutrients. Second, it speeds up muscle growth so you can build muscle mass and strength faster. I also like the fact that it speeds recovery time, that’s awesome if you’re just getting back into working out because you won’t feel so sore after your workout. And it’s also nice for anyone regularly working out because you know you can hit the weights harder without getting as sore and stiff.

What Do Users Say?

Most of the Myotein reviews I found were very positive. Users give it an average rating of 4.9 stars out of 5 and most of them recommend it to others. I didn’t see any complaints about side effects or ineffectiveness. A handful of people didn’t like the milk chocolate flavor, but most loved it.

Is Myotein Safe?

Myotein is free from stimulants, chemicals, and other potentially harmful ingredients. It should be very safe; unless you are allergic to milk.

There is a slight chance you could experience some initial “side effects” as your body adjusts to the powerful doses and ingredients in Myotein but with the addition of Aminogen, these side effects aren’t frequent.

What to Know if You’re interested in Buying Myotein

There are dozens of sites where you can buy Myotein including Amazon and eBay. I’ve found it for anywhere from $25 to $30 a bottle. You can order Myotein on the official site for $60 if you buy one 2 lb bottle, but I’ve noticed you can find discounted prices for UNDER $30.

The best part about ordering from the official site is the guarantee that comes with it. Basically (you can read the fine print on the site if you want), if you don’t like it and you return it within 90 days, they’ll give you your purchase price back. That makes ordering on Myotein.com a good choice especially if you’ve never tried it before and you aren’t sure if you’ll like it.

Tips for Best Results

If you want to build lean muscle mass, you’ll need to hit the weights regularly whether you’re taking Myotein or not. Myotein should help by speeding up muscle growth and recovery, and increasing energy. I recommend taking 2 to 4 scoops of Myotein a day. You can take it before your workout or after. Users say it mixes best with milk for a creamy consistency. I like to put it in the blender with some ice and milk and it really turns out to be delicious, even gets rid of my cravings for sugar and chocolate.

For best results, work out for about 45 minutes a day or more, 5 days a week. Most of your training should be resistance, but it’s important to throw some cardio into the mix a couple times a week too.

Final Thoughts

After reviewing the research, reviews and facts, I think Myotein really does deserve to be the top protein. It is effective, safe and fast-acting; and it comes from a reputable company, which offers an excellent money back guarantee. Myotein may not have been around for years and years like some other supplements, but, surprisingly, it’s my favorite protein powder and definitely utilizes the research and breakthroughs that have been made.

I’ve found it hard to beat the results, the taste and even the price for what you actually get. While recent prices have been slashed in half from $60 to UNDER $30! It seems like it is harder than ever to find Myotein in stock online!

If you’ve tried Myotein, please share your thoughts or experiences below. I’d love to hear what you have to say!

muscle burns calories 24hrs a day so buy bidluing muscle you burn fat. you may not lose the pounds as fast though. I recently drooped from 235 to 170 and decided I wanted to get to 160 so I started working out, but I’m staying the same weight even though I am getting allot leaner which im fine with.

I have only been taking Myotein for 1 week, here is my initial feedback.

Purpose: I bought Myotein to get a more cut look. I am 24yr old, 5’9 weighing 160 pounds prior to taking Myotetin.

Myotein: The bottle recommends that you mix 2-3 scoops with 8-12oz of water or milk, and drink 1-4 servings per day. The bottle recommends you consume as many grams of protein as you weigh ex/ If you weigh 160lb you consume 160g of protein. I on the other hand wouldn’t reccomend doing this unless your sole purpose is to gain weight.

My use/advice: Myotein has been great for me because it has filled my junk food voids. I drink two shakes a day that contain 3 scoops of myotein and 12oz of skim or 1% Milk. I drink one first thing in the morning for breakfeast, which is easily filling enough to hold me until lunch. I then drink one when i get home from work which is my usual junk food binge. I then wait an hour – 2 hours before i go work out. I could see Myotein being a very good post workout drink the only problem is that these shakes are very filling. I can’t imagine drinking one with a meal. (most likely why one person on this board complained of bloating 🙂

My Take on Myotein: I love this product thus far. It is working geat as a meal replacement and I am feeling great through-out my day. The taste is very good in my opinion, milk makes it a very creamy shake substance. In one week i have gained 3.5 pounds and am starting to see more definition. The biggest selling point in my opinion is the muscle recovery. You really start seeing the performace increase through your stamina. I started getting a couple extra reps in my 3rd sets very early in the week, and just felt very good after workouts and the morning following. Overall i see great results coming out of this product.

Its hard for you to understand if you dont know bout body budiilng..He meant you cant build EXTRA muscle if you want to lose fat at the same time.Coz budiilng extra muscles needs 500 caloric surplus and losing fats needs caloric deficit so they do both counter act each other..if you want to bulk up,you need more calorie intake and after six months what so ever depending on what your goals are..drop the calorie intake for defining muscle and change the workout program as well!

Ive been burning fat while ginanig muscle by simply running in the morning before I eat and eating a lot of calories and protein. I Lift weights at night and take weight gainer with creatine. Im not shreded but Im losing my stomach while maintaining my muscle. Its a slower process but it works. Theres no set way of doing things. Every body builder will tell you that. Just stay motivated and work hard

Myotein works great for all individuals – whether you’re just starting out or you’re wanting to take things to the extreme. Myotein gives your muscles the protein it needs to build lean muscle, but how much muscle you gain through exercise and training is up to you.

Myotein is a great overall protein, really one of the best because of the 6 different types of protein you get with it. If you’re looking to gain weight, you’ll probably want to take at least 2, but even 3, servings a day. Make sure that’s accompanied by great weight training workouts and you should be able to add some weight in a short amount of time.

Myotein is a really good protein powder. You’re probably going to want to take it 2 to 3 times per day if you want both weight loss and muscle gain. Take it right after your workout and then take it before bed. You can also use it in the morning as a meal replacement and add a banana or another piece of fruit and it makes a good meal replacement.

Leave a comment and let us know your results. Thanks!

He’s right though, you can maitanin, but it is hard to build a good amount of muscle, while trying to lose fat, because you need that calories in your diet to get bigger, but you have too many calories, then you aren’t going to lose fat. You can’t switch programs everyday.

It is possible to build mucsle and lose fat but in some cases mucsles will take longer to grow depending on how intense your cardio exercises are. When doing cardio, if your heart rate is between 125 135bpm then you can burn fat without burning mucsle. Extreme cardio (i.e. going over 140bpm) could make you burn mucsle as well as fat so go easy on the cardio and you shouldn’t have to worry about burning mucsle. Hope this helps

First off, I’m just a regular 38 year old who started working out 3 days a week with a weight trainer about 5 months ago. In that time I have only used GNC Amplify Wheybolic Extreme 60. I have zero complaints about my results! I love the fact that it’s 20 grams of protein per scoop! I take 4 scoops a day ($152 per month). I mixed the Wheybolic in water, CHOCOLATE, and it tastes great! It’s very easy to drink. My only complaint is the super high price! It’s ridiculously priced! Because of the high price I started thinking “am I getting the best protein powder for the money?”
So I started doing some research and found XPI Myotein was the best rated protein on the market. I found this site and other sites and read what everyone had to say. I decided to switch to Myotein. After doing some more research I found a site that sells it for $41 a bottle if you buy 3 bottles. which is A LOT cheaper than my previous protein. So I made the switch.
I was so excited to be getting my new protein powder in! I like the ingredients and what it says it delivers. Since it’s my first day I can’t claim any results, but I am not impressed with the chocolate flavor in water. It’s not as good as my last protein powder but I’m willing to compromise taste for better results. At 5 scoops ($103 per month) of the Myotein a day I’m only taking in 65 grams of protein as opposed to 80 grams of protein from 4 scoops with my last powder. But again, if I’m getting a better product for less money, I’m sold. I’m going to take about a month to review the results I get. I will be back to share my findings… (to be continued)

80 grams of protein is unnecessary! Why do you think the daily required protein intake is 30-40. Your diet has plenty of protein already, you are literally pissing away ( no pun intended) your money.

Could I take this before workout and right after workout? During workout I get quite tired and want to give up so I think taking it before would be good for me. But I am trying to space out my meals/protein intake every 3 hours… So lets say Im eating 6 meals per day, would the preworkout and postworkout drink eliminate 2 meals that I would typically do? Im working out at like 11 pm.. Any suggestion on how I should go about in taking this for a workout that late? Thanks

David, Myotein offers a month supply (2.5 pounds) for about $59.95 (though the price varies depending on the promotion). Optimum Gold Standard whey retails for $78.99 for a 3.3 lb bottle, though you can usually find it for about $45 depending on where you shop. So it’s not half the size for the same price – it’s fairly comparable. Product pricing varies greatly depending on the brand and the current promotions the manufacturers are offering, and considering the multiple protein sources you get with Myotein, it’s not a bad deal.

Linda, Myotein is not designed specifically to burn fat or promote weight loss. However, if you use it correctly, it can be a great tool for balancing your diet and getting adequate protein, which creates the ideal environment for building muscle and trimming up. Women can use Myotein freely, so it may be a good option for you.

Jason, Myotein is a safe protein powder. You are under 18 years old though, so it’s best to check with your doctor first.

I weight 185, 5’10 and am 45. I want to put on some bulk but still look cut. I take myotien and german creatine. Better to do p90x or lift heavy weights? Maybe both? Any advice would be great.

I am 15 6’1 about 150 pounds. I have recently been taking a less serious protein powder and I have been drinking around 2-3 shakes a day with 1-2 scoops each. I usually have one in the mourning as a meal replacement and one when i get home to replace the want for junk food, and another one after I work out/ before bed. I Work out for about 45 minutes each day, I usually try and work out upper body, core, and lower body, I try and get my whole body. However there aren’t any serious work outs that I do, I usually just do around 50 reps per section. So I am looking to get myotein, and I am wondering that if I start to take myotein the same way and the same amount, what kind of muscles gain and mass gain can I expect to see.

Gina, Myotein is not a mass gainer – it’s protein powder designed to optimize muscle growth, not put on 40 pounds. Also, while there is no physical risks that we know of, Myotein should not be taken by anyone under 18.

I am a 5’6/130 lbs. vegetarian male. Since I do not eat meat and want to gain muscle mass, Myotein is the way I am planning to supplement the protein I need to get bigger. I don’t want to be stocky or huge by any means. I would simply like to have an overall bigger appearance as I’m very petite. My question is… how many scoops should I consider for one serving and how many serving should I take? Thanks.

Fabian, 1 Myotein serving is 2 scoops (38 g). Your individual protein needs will vary depending on your diet, so how much you take is up to you. However, Myotein customer service recommends taking 1-4 servings daily. Keep in mind, that Myotein’s protein sources come from whey – which is an animal based product. I’m not sure how strict of a vegetarian you are, but I thought you should be informed.

I am a mid 40 year old male and I am starting to get back into working out at my local gym. I think I am about 15 lbs over weight.
I work night shifts 1am until 11am and I was planning on using Myotein as my breakfast meal, then have a low calorie meal at work, head home and take another Myotein shake 1 hour before my workout, which entail 30-45 mins cardio followed by 45 mins of weight training.
I plan on using skimmed milk or 2% milk. Do you see anything wrong with this plan??

Gerald, those are both fine products. Myotein Isolate is merely a more filtered form of Myotein. It’s great if you’re trying to watch your macros or are lactose intolerant.

I’m about to undergo surgery, and I’m using this in place of Impact Advanced Recovery due to the outrageous cost. Plan on writing back later with results. My procedure will involve being cut down the middle, and I want to pack on some pounds prior to the procedure, and then continue to drink during recovery. Stay tuned…

I want to lose fat (belly and lower back) but also build muscle. I’m wondering if I could use protein powder and if I can what would be best for me. I mostly walk maybe a short workout a couple times a week. I don’t know how much or what I need to eat to succeed in getting the body I want. I’m sixteen, five foot five, and around one seventeen. Someone, please help and respond.

I’m looking for a protein powder to supplement my mother’s nutrient-poor diet due to dysphagia. Since she’s not too keen on chocolate, but does like strawberries, has anyone try the strawberry milkshake flavor version? Just curious what the consensus is on the palability of the strawberry flavor. Thanks.

Hi, Brenda! Myotein is a great choice for losing weight, as it’s high in protein and low in carbs. Agreed that exercising while eating at a caloric defecit to lose weight can be difficult. We don’t know of any straight protein that will help with this. You might want to look into a preworkout to help you there. Best of luck!
